I'm engaged : ) I know, *gasp.* Here's the details... (figured this is easier than typing it a bunch of times to everyone)

Info on my fiance - His name is Nick. He will be 26 in August. He works on computer networks. He knows how to treat a lady with respect and dignity. He fits in well with my friends and family. Never thought I could be this happy. Long story short, the Lord has blessed me with a genuine guy and I Love him!!

The proposal - Sweet and simple! Nick recreated one of our first really memorable moments together. We had a simple picnic, then talked for a little bit. He asked me to dance (Alison Krauss's "When You Say Nothing at All"). When the song was over he got down on one knee and asked. I said yes (obviously) and the rest is yet to come : )

The ring - is gorgeous! I can't get the pic to show correctly on here. sorry.

The wedding - details to come. We know the wedding party for the most part. Have colors picked out, etc. Waiting to have the date confirmed through the church. Things are already starting to just fall into place for us. So, pray that it continues to happen that way.

Basically, things are great and I couldn't be happier : )

Figured it's been 15 weeks, might as well update a little...

Work has been kicking my butt this past month, but things are getting better and it's almost the end of the school year, and tomorrow is Friday! I figure if I can get through all of this I'll be good to go for a while.

Other parts of life are going splendly. Been dating a guy named Nick for 2 months. Things are amazing with him. Sometimes I think things are going too well. He treats me incredibly well and is a genuine person. I know... guys like that still exist?!?!

More to come later.

Apartment!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I figure since it's been several months since I've posted I would do a quick update.

Started teaching - it's going great! Love the schools that I'm at and having a great time. The school i'm at most of the time was actually just named a Maryland Blue Ribbon School for 2008 a few weeks ago. So, i'm at two pretty awesome schools.

I will be moving out the weekend of Feb 1st! I've been approved and can't wait. The apartment has a cool layout and it's in a great location. Now I'll only have to drive 10-15min to work instead of 35-40 everyday. Yay!

Maybe I'll update again before summer.

job!!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I figured it's been over a year since i've posted in here and since I have good news I thought it appropriate to post today. I won't try to sum up the past year in any way shape or form, sorry. I can say that this summer has been rough trying to find a teaching job (music, of course). However, I had an interview yesterday and got the job offer call today. I will be teaching at Hickory and Emerton Elementary Schools in Harford County, MD. The position is 4 full days at Hickory and 1 full day at Emerton every week. I don't know Emerton's statistics, but I know Hickory has almost 700 students and a big pool of special needs students, which is right up my alley. There is no doubt that this position is going to have it's definite challenges, but I think I'm going to have fun with it : )

I should probably get back to work now.

How do i put this...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
I had this whole long entry ready to go... but yeah, the only thing i can say is...

Thank God for people who care. Thank God for friends that will drop things at any second to help out however they can. So glad I took this job this summer and met such awesome people. Don't know how to thank certain people enough for everything they did to help out the last few days. Oh, and of course, Thank God for friends that know you well enough they could be your twin. You all are truly amazing.

Wow, feels like third grade thanksgiving.

Too much to type

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
A lot has happened the last few days... far too much to type... but here's some...

"Lowlights"
*Haven't talked to a certain "bestest" in a while... i need story time (lol)
*Had a breakdown like whoa one night... (but feel like i'm doing much better now)
*Still feel really distant from certain friends (but getting better with some others)
*Still have to pay for lost (but found) SO40 key... but, not as much as i was bracing myself for.

and now for the...

"Highlights"
*Annual Conference is over!
*Went to Jess's camp - all sorts of fun and relaxing!
*Mattress sliding like whoa : )
*It was sunny Tuesday = lay out on roof and hang out with staff
*Got to walk Cheif (michael's dog) around campus for a bit!!
*Rachel's mommy made me dinner and let me do laundry : )
*Finally finished The Da Vinci Code...

Life has thrown some obstacles my way, but i'm making it through the course. Tomorrow shall bring breakfast, searching Buckhannon for "Angels and Demons," working in the office from 10-12, Payday!, tanning with joey, and who knows what else.

Praying and wishing that certain friends are on the path to getting better.

Looking Up

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Aside from not sleeping well lately, things are starting to feel better again. I don't know exactly why I was in a slump, but it happens every once in a while. I told you I'd be back to myself soon though.

I got to talk to Little #2 and Christina about a lot of stuff the last two nights. Lets just say there's def a reason why Jess is my little (scandafused.. lol) and Christina and I will ALWAYS share a brain apparently. Those two girls are amazing. Thanks for the new look on things little (lol... still wish I could quote you!). Christina, just remember... I can totally relate to what's going on. Just keep me updated so we can continue to laugh at the ironies of our lives.

SCA stuff is going well. Michael and I have been playing the role of Chefs and of course we have all been playing jokes on each other and just making the most of life here in Buckhannon. Went to see X3 the other day with Joey and Michael; it was pretty good. That was followed by Chicken Little (courtesy of our favorite computer pirate Jess) and Bomberman (nintendo 64) in Hyma. Last night was chinese and movie night. We watched Anastasia (yay.. love that movie!), Saved and part of Sister Act. Oh, and I can't forget the brownies the michael and I made... and michael and miki attacked. Seriously guys, eating warm brownies with a ton of chocolate icing on them directly out of the pan = probably not the smartest move. lol. These people are awesome, and I can't believe how close we've all become already. I'm starting to realize the reason for my being here this summer.

I'm currently sitting here waiting for the fun and craziness known as Annual Conference to start. The SCAs have all hear horror stories about it, and well... i'm looking forward to Sunday night when we can share our stories with each other. It's going to feel weird not being around them all day (and night/early morning) for the next couple of days. I'm going to fill my time with visits from both neighbor units (Today!!), Rachel (throughout conference!), and reading. Yup, I'm going to read The Da Vinci Code while checking a crap load of methodist conference people in. I'm sure that's a good combonation. Oh well. The book has my interest now, so I don't plan on stopping. Plus, if I finish reading it soon then I can allow myself to watch the movie.

Keep your eyes open tonight for MI:4 "The Nellie Wilson Challenge." Good luck with that Michael. Well, going to read for a bit until Heather arrives and "the last meal" (aka lunch... lol)with the SCAs.

AHHHHHHH!!!!

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
So much to say, but don't know how to say it or who to say it to. I've already scared myself and opened up about some things to someone I barely even know. That scares me like whoa. To that person... please don't hurt me, that's been done enough by others. I know I have plenty of friends who are "there for me" whenever I have stuff on my mind and actually feel like talking... but yeah, the ones I'm closest with are either hundreds of miles away and/or we're distancing ourselves away from each other.

Anyways, I know my last few entries have been kind of different. Everything will be okay. I promise. I'll bounce back to my normal self. I always do.

uh oh...

What does it mean;
My dream from last night.
Someone new was in it,
And that gives me a fright.

Was it just a dream
Or do i really feel this way?
Now i get to sit here
And rack my brain today.

*Christina if you read this, CALL ME!!! We really need some story time... NOW!*

Note to self: stop second guessing your first instinct... you're gut feelings are normally right!!!

Screaming like crazy on the inside. Hope i can help others and figure out my life soon.

Apparently superwoman has returned (lol).

That's it for now. The end.

Weekend...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Weekend turned out to be fun and pretty relaxing. Got to go camping with mom and dad friday night and didn't leave until 10pm saturday night. Enjoyed getting to see the scenery at the resort again. The ride there was fun in the mustang... top down, jammin to music... and of course stuck in traffic... wouldn't have it any other way. lol. Got a good amount of sun at the pool saturday. Mom is jealous b/c my burns always turn to tan within a day.

Sunday was church (it was good to see everyone again!) and then Jenn's Grad party (go jenn!!) and Jess's surprise 21st party (woot!). Basically, sunday was relaxing and fun. Got to see a lot of people from high school that i haven't seen in years. Always fun to catch up with old friends.

Mom decided sunday night that it would be fun to have a Memorial Day get together at our house. Last minute? Yes. Did it turn out quite nice? Yes. It was great to see some of my aunts and uncles... and of course others. Definitely could have dealt with a little cooler weather. 90 degree weather with cookouts is flippin ridiculous. Couldn't enjoy some of the food due to a severely swollen throat (stupid allergies like whoa), but still had lots of fun. Mom is sending me back with some good stuff : )

Heading back to WV tomorrow afternoon. Looking forward to hanging out and what not with the other SCAs. Bed soon... gotta get up early to get stuff done around here before i can head back.

Home?

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Got home last night. The trip was tiring, but i made it. I'm able to feed off of my neighbor's wireless so i can get on the comp more while i'm home. It's unstable at times... but it's better than trying to use the desktop with the incredibly slow modem.

The Busch Gardens trip got canceled for tomorrow, so we shall see what I find to do. I've caught up on sleep, but i'm also feeling a nasty cold... which is always fun.

Randomness: In some ways, It gets harder to come home each time. It might sound weird, but for some reason I'm attached to Wesleyan. Maybe it's because I've realized I only have one more year there. It's hard to say exactly why i feel this way. For so long i was attached to Baltimore, i mean it is still home, but now I have more friends that I talk to on a daily basis there, not here. I feel that i've lost some of the strong friendships I used to have in Baltimore. I mean, I knew I would only keep in touch with a handful of them after High School, but it's kind of hard to when I'm away from home so much. There's only been one friendship at home that has gotten stronger recently. Thank god for 14 year long friendships. It feels strange for me to say this, because I've always been the one to just get up and go somewhere. I have no problems leaving and doing something that i feel needs to be done. I don't know... just felt like getting that off my chest.

Life is still busy confusing me, but what else is new. lol. One of these days I'll figure everything out and all will be well again. Until then... i've got my seatbelt on and I'm ready for the twists, turns and other obstacles it throws at me! Game face is on... BRING IT!

On to good news, I got to talk to someone that I have recently hurt very badly. It was good to get to talk to this person, and I am glad we got to talk for so long tonight.

Well, it's late and i need sleep. Enough for now.

May 23rd, 2006

ummm, yeah...

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
So... far too much to type about this past weekend. Lets just say that it was Strawberry Festival, and I had two groups in my building. One group wasn't too bad... just unorganized and kind of loud... but most definitely fun to deal with. The other group; however, caused me to get about 3 hours of sleep maximum for two nights in a row because they were SO unorganized! So glad they are gone now.

This weekend called for some major staff bonding. It's funny how before this summer started i only know one of the other SCA's (joey, of course) well enough to call them a friend. Now I know 3 of the others to this extent too. The amount of staff bonding we have done so far is awesome. I guess i didn't think we would become so close so quickly, but i'm really glad we did : )

As for the other parts of life. I've managed to confuse myself like crazy again... go figure. But for now... how and why shall remain between me and one of the best friends/"sisters" a girl could ask for! I'm glad I share a brain with someone and we both go through the same crap at the same times. *To this person - 14 years of friendship and still going strong... don't know what i'd do without you!!*

I get to go home this Wednesday until late next tuesday or early next wednesday. I'm excited to see certain people and hang out with my mom. A trip to Wilderness (camp resort) for a day or two might even occur (YaY!).

Well, enough for now. Up far too early tomorrow morning to work in the Office for a little bit. Excited about the idea of more staff bonding.

May 15th, 2006

After the Phil prank this weekend wasn't too exhilirating. It wasn't really boring, but nothing major. Saturday consisted of more training, a goofy team builder thingie, nintendo 64, bulletin board goodness, etc. I learned that I'm strictly a regular nintendo kind of girl... Me + nintendo 64 = lots of laughs for joey. Today was basically the same kind of day minus the training. I finished my bulletin boards (which i'm excited about), hung lots of signs with Michael around both of our buildings, and hung out with joey for a while... once again tonight reminded me that Me + nintendo 64 = lots of laughs for Joey.

Well, I don't have much to say tonight. Tomorrow brings more bulletin board goodness with Miki (helping her out), training, and hopefully PAYDAY!!

May 12th, 2006

Muhahaha

Add to Memories Tell a Friend
Today was much more productive than the last few days. I helped Val out with the summer bulletin board in the Campus Center and then the productiveness began around 1:30ish. I got my laundry done, washed dishes and did about 7 sudoku puzzles. Then it was time for the first Summer Conference Assistant (SCA) dinner and training session. We learned some interesting facts about each other during training... the best though, has to be the fact that Patrick used ot have long hair...and it was PERMED! Joey and I laughed way too hard at that.

After training Alisa took us all to Dairy King where we thought it would be fun to plot out our first prank of the summer. Let's just say Phil is out of town until tomorrow and he left one of our fellow students in charge of watching his kitty and apt... so Phil's room + balloons + table in front of door + cup towers + sticky spiders + other stuff = probably one not so happy phil when he comes back tomorrow right before training. Oh well, at least they know that the SCAs get along quite well and we know how to bond.

We have more training tomorrow, sunday off, and training monday and tuesday. That means we'll have time to spend hanging out at Strawberry Festival and causing more trouble I am sure. As of now it looks like i might be able to go home for a few days for Memorial Day. That'll make everyone at home happy, plus that means I can go to Jenn's graduation party. It would be awesome to get to go to one of my best friend's grad parties, so that makes me happy : )

Anyways, that's all for now. I'm sure there will be many more shenanigans to talk about soon!

May 11th, 2006

So, I figure since I have nothing better to do i'm going to try to update this thing almost everyday. We'll see how long this lasts.

I got to spend a few more hours at the High School today. Talked to my cooperating teacher for my first rotation of student teaching about what all I should be prepared for in the fall. I'm looking forward to it. He's very laid back and seems incredibly easy to work with... so it should be fun. I like the fact that the High School has so much spirit and actually has the band play at several friday night football games. Their freshman band is separated from the upperclassman band, kind of like PHS did it... so i'm excited to see another high school that does that too.

The rest of my day was spent getting some stuff ready for Strawberry Festival next week and doing sudoku puzzles to keep me from boredom. Rachel came to visit for a couple of hours, so that was fun and occupied my time for a while!

Tomorrow looks like a day of hanging out at the switchboard and maybe doing some laundry (so exciting, i know!). Training kicks off in the evening with a group dinner. I'm glad that training is starting... it means that camps are coming in soon... which means there will be people in the building and it shouldn't be as creepy or lonely. YaY!

Enough for now!
Joey kept harassing me, so i figured i would give in and create one of these suckers again. Plus, he gave me a funny name to use... so why not. Wanna be added as a friend? Just let me know!
